Investigations and Enforcement by the Dutch Data Protection Authority
On 28 January 2022, an IAPP KnowlegdeNet event on the investigation and enforcement practice of the Dutch Data Protection Authority was moderated by Vonne Laan.
Two senior Enforcement Advisors of the Dutch Data Protection Authority (DDPA), Sofie van der Meulen and Eva Lammers, were present to provide insight and knowledge on enforcement by the DDPA. Some questions that were considered: What can you expect when the DDPA starts an investigation? How does the DDPA decide on imposing a fine in case of privacy non-compliance? When has the DDPA decided not to take enforcement actions?
