Vonne Laan will moderate an IAPP KnowledgeNet virtual event on 21 April 2022, which will focus on the opportunities and challenges that come with class actions and the GDPR from a Dutch litigation perspective.

Since January 1, 2020 it is possible in the Netherlands to claim damages on behalf of groups of injured parties, such as individuals facing a violation of their privacy. The webinar will discuss the relationship between the Wet Afwikkeling Massaschade in Collectieve Actie (“WAMCA”) and the GDPR, and the opportunities that exist to enforce the GDPR through an AVG class action as well as the challenges one can encounter.

Speakers will be Friederike van der Jagt, attorney-at-law at Hunter Legal and Damiën Berkhout, attorney-at-law at Scott+Scott.

This event is open to IAPP members for registration.
